Memorial Day is the last chance for Missouri residents to apply for a black bear and elk permit for the fall hunting season.

You may apply by May 31 for both black bear hunting and elk hunting permits through Missouri Department of Conservation’s website, mdc.mo.gov/buypermits. You may also acquire one through MDC’s free MO Hunting app, through a permit vendor or call 1-800-392-4115. There is a $10 non-refundable application fee.

Missouri residents must be 11 years or older by the start of the season to be eligible to apply. Eligible people may apply for both permits, according to MDC.
