While most programs in Missouri State Athletics are gearing up for their first Conference USA season, the men's soccer team is already receiving honors in its new conference — the American.
Alex Matthews, a junior midfielder for the team, was named to the 2025 American Preseason All-Conference Team on Aug. 18. The team ranked fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, just two points behind second place while earning one first-place vote.
The Derbyshire, England native started all 18 matches for the group last season, racking up 1,593 minutes to finish as a First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) honoree.
