The Jhonny Peralta Rehab Show is reportedly headed to Springfield.
The veteran big-league shortstop, who was sidelined by a torn ligament in his thumb in early March and has been working his way back ever since, will join the Double-A Cardinals this weekend, according to a report from Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest.
Hayes reported the move on Twitter on Wednesday, saying the news came from St. Louis Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak.
It makes sense, as the Cardinals like to have their players going through rehab stints play as close to St. Louis as possible.
