The majority of the Missouri State swimming team is in self-quarantine for precautionary reasons.
A university spokesperson told the News-Leader on Thursday that one student-athlete on the swim team tested positive for COVID-19.
Through contact tracing, as a part of the university's re-entry policy, the majority of the swim team has been placed in self-quarantine out of precaution.
As a result, the swim team will take a two-week hiatus from team practices and activities as another precautionary measure. The swim team is the first known MSU athletics program to have to shut down because of COVID-19.
