Mack Rhoades to leave Missouri, become Baylor athletics director

Baylor is hiring Missouri's Mack Rhoades to be its next athletics director, a person familiar with the matter told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because neither school has announced the move yet.

This is a hire that will reverberate through the college sports community, as Rhoades is a little more than a year into the job at Missouri and hired football coach Barry Odom, who is set to speak at SEC Media Days on Wednesday afternoon.

Baylor parted ways with athletics director Ian McCaw, along with football coach Art Briles and school president Kenneth Starr, in May following an investigation into the school handled sexual assault complaints.
