Loyola stops Missouri State's streak with NCAA Tournament on the horizon

After the longest final in Missouri Valley Conference championship history, Loyola punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament and gave Missouri State its first loss of the season.

The game was tied 1-1 after two overtimes, and Loyola managed to outscore the Bears 5-4 in penalty kicks.

The top two teams in the MVC played each other close all game. Early in the game, the Bears dominated possession. Late in the first half, it was Loyola who looked more dangerous, but goalkeeper Michael Creek made two big saves to keep Loyola off the board.

Early in the second half, Loyola's Aidan Megally took a shot from the box that glanced off the arm of a Bears' defender.
