The defending champions of the Legends Division stand atop the leaderboard after the opening round of the 2016 Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge at Top of the Rock.
Larry Nelson and Bruce Fleisher combined to card a 9-under par 45 on the par 54 opening round. The players completed the nine-hole course using an alternating shot format the first time around, and went around again playing best ball rules.
Nelson and Fleisher hold a two-stroke lead on Jim Thorpe and Doug Tewell after 18 holes.
Australian Graham Marsh and South African John Bland are in third place, three strokes off the lead.
