Landowners have a bit more time to apply for a program that would allow hunting, fishing or other outdoor activities on their acreage through the Missouri Department of Conservation.
MDC is extending the deadline for landowner enrollment into the Missouri Outdoor Recreational Access Program to Jan. 15. The program gives incentive payments between $15-$25 per acre and habitat improvement financial assistance to landowners. In doing so, landowners allow the public to access their land for hunting, fishing and wildlife viewing, according to a news release from the department.
Landowners who participate can pick the recreational activities allowed on their property, such as all access hunting and fishing, small game and turkey hunting, youth-only hunting and fishing, archery hunting, fishing only or wildlife viewing.
