The surprising Lance Lynn Tour is expected to hit Hammons Field on Wednesday night.
Lynn is the St. Louis Cardinals’ right-handed starting pitcher who was expected to be sidelined for the entire 2016 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow last November.
That procedure carried an estimated recovery time of 12-15 months.
But a mere nine months after the surgery – on Aug. 15 – he began a rehab stint with the High-A Palm Beach Cardinals.
The rehab circuit comes to Springfield next, with Lynn expected to make the start against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Wednesday.
