Lady Bears sweep Northern Iowa to open MVC play

The Missouri State Lady Bears took two wins from the University of Northern Iowa Panthers this weekend in their first games back from quarantine.

The Lady Bears had not seen any action in nearly a month, after multiple positive COVID-19 tests in the program. MSU’s first two games back were also their first in conference play.

In game one of the series, the Lady Bears got off to a quick start, out-scoring the Panthers 20-7 in the first quarter. From there they didn’t look back en route to a 70-51 victory over UNI.

Defense was a difference maker for MSU, forcing 21 turnovers, resulting in several transition opportunities.
