The day started with an unexpected player departure and ended with a frantic comeback by Oral Roberts.
What happened in between was just enough for the Missouri State Lady Bears to earn their fourth consecutive victory, a 72-64 win before an announced crowd of 3,112 at JQH Arena.
The Lady Bears (6-4) led 62-41 after three quarters, then saw ORU (2-7) open the final period on a 16-2 run to get to within seven points.
Kenzie Williams was able to stop the bleeding for Missouri State. She made two free throws to make it a nine-point game with 2:25 to play, then hit a short jumper with 61 seconds remaining to push the lead back to nine, and iced the game with two free throws with 24.
