Sleet falling across the Ozarks on Friday night was nothing compared to the frost inside JQH Arena.

Simone Goods and Tete Maggett combined for 45 points and they rallied Illinois State (14-9, 7-5 MVC) past the Lady Bears in the final minutes to steal a 60-56 win and end Missouri State’s 13-game winning streak. The Lady Bears missed all 14 attempts from beyond the arc and shot 37 percent from the field.

“We just could not get things going, really on either end of the court for extended minutes,” said Lady Bears’ head coach Kellie Harper. “But I’ll be remiss if I did not say hats off to Illinois State because I thought their game plan was excellent, they executed it – they played tough for forty minutes and we just couldn’t get in a flow.
