The Missouri State Lady Bears (14-10, 10-3) blew out defensive titan Illinois State (11-13, 5-8) to cap off the home weekend, winning 75-58.
The defenses shined early, so much so, nearly every possession in the first five minutes ended with the shot clock under five seconds. After the five minute mark, the game was knotted up at five.
Senior forward Aubrey Buckley got things started for the Lady Bears with a quick, in transition layup. The Redbirds went on to miss their shot and the Lady Bears responded with a heavily contested 3-pointer from senior guard Liza Fruendt to take the lead.
