Lexi Hughes flipped the game-winning bucket off the glass with 1.4 seconds to play and the Lady Bears shocked the previously undefeated Arkansas Razorbacks 64-62 Sunday afternoon at JQH Arena.
Twisting through the air Hughes, a senior guard, navigated a forest of Arkansas post players, changed hands, and finished while falling away from the hoop.
She said the added degrees of difficulty helped avoid a charging call.
“Obviously we couldn’t afford (an offensive foul) so I shifted my body a little bit and finished with my right hand so that I wouldn’t run into her,” Hughes said.
