After a short trip to Illinois over the weekend, the Missouri State Lady Bears returned to Springfield with two more wins, putting them at second place in the Missouri Valley Conference.
The first matchup of the weekend, against the Illinois State Redbirds, started and ended as a defensive battle.
Senior Aubrey Buckley came alive this game scoring 15 points and corralling eight rebounds. She also caused five turnovers, three off steals.
Other than Buckley’s performance, the Lady Bears didn’t have much brewing. The Redbirds defense is one of the best in the country and it showed this game.
