The 2017-18 college basketball season did not start the way the Missouri State Lady Bears intended, as they dropped their season opener against the Ball State Cardinals 70-58.
“We had people come in and make plays,” head coach Kellie Harper said. “It’s something we can work with, but I told them, ‘I want them walking out of here hurt.’ This is a tough one, but I need them to bounce back and correct some things.”
Ball State took the lead early in the game and never looked back, racing to a 17-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.
