The Missouri State University women’s basketball team dropped a road match against Conference USA’s second place, Sam Houston State University Bearkats, 74-67.
MO State fell to fourth place last night, with a season record of 15-9 (7-4 in CUSA) after the defeat in which two pivotal Lady Bears fouled out and four others had four fouls.
Junior guard Kaemyn Bekemeier and sophomore forward Lainie Douglas both had double-doubles in the matchup, with Bekemeier recording 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Douglas had 14 points and 11 boards.
The Lady Bears also outrebounded the Bearkats 47-26, but the fouls — especially in the final quarter — snuffed out their hopes of taking the lead back after falling just behind.
