The Lady Bears were nearly perfect on the defensive end and at the free-throw line – but not much else was pretty on Sunday afternoon at JQH Arena except the result.
Jasmine Franklin sank a pair of free throws to ice a 48-44 win over visiting Little Rock in the final non-conference game of the season. The Lady Bears (4-7) failed to make a three-point shot in a game for the first time since 2012 but connected on 14-of-15 free-throw attempts and held Little Rock to just 36 percent from the field.
The Trojans (4-7) entered play Sunday afternoon winners of the previous two meetings with the Lady Bears but that wasn’t all that concerned MSU head coach Kellie Harper.
