Lady Bears defeat Tulane in 10-point deficit win

The Missouri State University Lady Bears completed a convincing 70-60 win against the Tulane University Green Wave, Friday night at Great Southern Bank Arena.

After going down 5-0 in the first minute of the opening quarter, junior point guard Lacy Stokes sank two 3-pointers to put the Lady Bears in front 6-5 and the team never fell behind again.

“(Stokes) coming out and hitting those couple three (pointers) was huge,” head coach Beth Cunningham said. “I think it kind of settled us down and obviously there was no looking back after that.”

The teams stayed close in scoring for the rest of the first quarter.
