For the second time in 2021, Brice Calip’s heroics at the buzzer lifted the Missouri State Lady Bears to a last-second victory on the road.
Juju Redmond’s driving layup with five seconds remaining had put Illinois State ahead 72-71 after the Lady Bears had clawed back from an 11-point halftime deficit.
It appeared the Lady Bears' rally would be in vain until the Missouri State senior and presumptive Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year penetrated and banked a layup with 1 second to play to seal a stunning 73-72 comeback win for the No. 23-ranked Lady Bears.
