The Missouri State Lady Bears (21-11, 15-3) beat Louisiana Tech (19-12, 10-6) 63-59 in the first round of a close Women’s National Invitational Tournament game, handing the Lady Techsters their first ever home postseason loss.
Louisiana Tech started ahead, but the Lady Bears quickly tied up the score 4-4, then took the lead with another shot in the paint. Louisiana snatched it back at the 5:18 mark in the first quarter.
It was unclear which team was going to pull ahead, and neither went on an extended run in the first quarter.
Finding no connection behind the arc, Missouri State went 1-13 from the 3-point line and Louisiana Tech shot 1-10 in the first half.
