The win was a quick rebound for the Bears after they suffered their first loss of the season to Columbus State, 7-5, on Feb. 20.

The Bears (4-1) kept up their high scoring offense, averaging 8.4 goals a game, against a Jayhawk team that entered Friday undefeated.

“It was a battle. We knew Kansas was going to have a quality team,” Coach Dustin Rich said. “It was a heated game, guys on both sides of the ball were hungry. Anytime you play a sudden death overtime and you win, it feels good.”

Rich was pleased with his team’s composure throughout the match.
