MDC keeps track of all the biggest fish caught in the state Wochit
While on a summer crappie fishing trip with the temperature pushing 95 degrees, I noticed several other anglers on the lake enjoying the sport. It reminded me that Missouri is a fishing state. About a third of our total population, encompassing all ages, goes fishing. We spend millions of dollars on fishing tackle and even more on goods and services annually. This is good for the state’s economy and our need for recreation.
Should you ask these Missourians why they fish, the answer would usually be, "to catch fish and have fun.
