Kicking issues, big third quarter drown Bears against No. 12 Illinois State

After competing with the 12th ranked Illinois State Redbirds for the first 30 minutes on Saturday, the Missouri State Bears faltered in the second half and ultimately, lost to ISU 34-9 to fall to 1-3 on the season.

The Bears came out firing in the first half, using the read option on offense to move the ball in big chunks. On the second play of scrimmage, sophomore quarterback Peyton Huslig kept it himself on a read-option for a 22-yard gain.

On the next play, from the 47-yard line, Huslig ran the same play. This time, however, he optioned to pitch the ball to senior wide receiver Deion Holliman.
