Kickapoo basketball standout Cameron Davis plans to set sail for Annapolis, Maryland.
Davis announced Monday on Twitter that he has verbally committed to play basketball for the U.S. Naval Academy.
“I can now say that my dream has come true. Basketball is my first love, but I want to be more than just an athlete,” Davis wrote.
Davis scored an average of 13.5 points per game as a junior for a Kickapoo team that reached the Missouri Class 5 state championship game and finished second to Chaminade. Davis added 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for a Chiefs team scheduled to compete in the prestigious Bass Pro Tournament of Champions for a second consecutive season.
