Keeping the horse in the barn will be the top priority for the Missouri State football team on Saturday night.
That’s not some old-style coach speak or football terminology that only maniacal fans would understand.
It’s literal.
Murray State is the only school in the nation that has a real horse run around the track after a touchdown at its home games.
It’s a tradition that dates back to 1976, and this year’s pony is a first-timer named Racer 1.
If the Bears are to keep Racer 1 from running wild at Roy Stewart Stadium, they’ll need to keep close tabs on Murray State’s QB 1.
