Joplin's Isaiah Davis voted as the News-Leader's high school football player of the year

After a competitive vote that came down to the early hours of Thursday morning, the area's top tailback was selected as our player of the year.

Joplin's Isaiah Davis was voted as the Springfield News-Leader's 2019 high school football player of the year.

Davis is coming off a 13-1 season in which he helped lead the Joplin Eagles to a state championship appearance.

The South Dakota State football commit ran for 2,283 yards on 253 carries this season for a whopping nine yards per carry.
