Jake Burger was an undrafted high school prospect three years ago.
Now he’s a three-time all-American and a first round pick in the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. The Chicago White Sox took Burger with the 11th pick in the first round on Monday night. The Missouri State third baseman is just the sixth Bears player to be taken in an opening round of the draft since 1966.
Burger started all 63 of Missouri’s State’s 2017 games at third base. He batted .328 with an on-base percentage of .
