The funk that plagued the Lady Bears against Evansville in the MVC tournament last weekend took the bus to Iowa City.
Ally Disterhoft set the all-time scoring record for the University of Iowa and scored a team-high 21 points to lead the Hawkeyes past the Lady Bears 95-74 in the opening round of the WNIT. Senior guard Lexi Hughes led all scorers with a career-high 26 points in her final collegiate game for Missouri State. An up-and-down season for the Lady Bears ends with a 16-15 overall mark.
Iowa out-muscled Missouri State in the low post, scoring 50 points in the paint to the Lady Bears’ 28.
