In the days after Missouri State head coach Dana Ford called out his team for its lack of care, the Bears put on a much more inspiring performance.
Missouri State (11-13, 5-6) came away with an 80-60 win over a struggling Illinois State (7-16, 2-9) on Wednesday night at JQH Arena.
The win snapped the Bears' three-game losing streak while the Redbirds still have yet to win a game away from their home court this season.
MSU will now hit the road to play against a surprising Southern Illinois team on Saturday evening.
