Illinois State pulls away with big third quarter to defeat Missouri State

Not being able to capitalize on first-half opportunities came back to cost the football Bears.

Missouri State (1-3) allowed four touchdowns in the third quarter as the Illinois State Redbirds defeated the Bears 34-9 on Saturday.

The Bears kept it competitive early on, taking a 6-6 tie into halftime.

Deion Holliman scored on a 53-yard touchdown run less than a minute into the game, but it was all Illinois State from there.
