Hunters, landowners have chance to learn more about Missouri's wild turkeys through upcoming webinar

Turkey hunters, landowners and others are invited to learn about wild turkeys through a webcast slated for later this month.

Missouri Department of Conservation will host its Wild Webcast featuring "Wild Turkeys in Missouri: Population Trends and MDC Management" at noon June 29.

Reina Tyl, MDC's wild turkey biologist, will discuss factors that have contributed to Missouri wild turkey numbers as well as MDC's management efforts regarding the birds.

Other key points will include the poultry's number over the years, how they are impacted by weather, predators and habitat, research efforts, harvest impacts and more.

Webcast participants can also share their questions for Tyl to answer.
