With 1.4 seconds left to play, senior guard Lexi Hughes drove to the basket, laid the ball in with her right hand and handed the Lady Bears the 64-62 win over Arkansas.
The Lady Bears cut down the Razorbacks, and handed them their first loss of the season, in the opening of a six-game homestand on Sunday, Dec. 11.
Junior guard Liza Fruendt led the Bears with 23 points, junior forward Aubrey Buckley was right behind her with 14 and Hughes had 12 points.
Arkansas scored first off a quick lay-up. The Bears tried to hit right back in their next possession but couldn’t get any of their three shot attempts to fall.
