St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt will be in Springfield on Dec. 6 as a part of Missouri State baseball's second annual Step Up to the Plate" event at the Shrine Mosque.
The event takes place on Thursday, Dec. 6 with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the event starting at 6 p.m.
Bears and baseball fans will be able to participate in a silent auction along with interacting with current and former Missouri State baseball players in attendance — who will be available to meet the public and sign autographs.
Shildt became the permanent manager of the Cardinals in late August after taking over for Mike Matheny, who was fired in July.
