How Missouri State basketball came up just short at BYU in thriller

In a game that was bound to come down to who had the ball with enough time last, Brigham Young had the ball with 7.2 seconds left in a tied game and hit a shot right before the buzzer.

BYU escaped with a 66-64 victory over the Bears (1-1) in a Wednesday night thriller in Provo, Utah.

The back-and-forth game saw neither team lead by more than a possession for the final 9:27 of the contest. The Bears tied the game at 64 when Oklahoma transfer Alston Mason made a layup through contact with 7.2 seconds left before Dallin Hall responded by getting an easy look and hitting the game-winner with 1.
