Home cooking for Burger; Bears crush Saint Louis 15-8

Baseball fans in St. Louis gave warm receptions to hometown heroes who were clad in visitors’ gray and playing third base for the opposition on Monday night.

While 2011 World Series MVP David Freese inflicted no harm on the Cardinals at Busch Stadium, two miles up the road Saint Louis University was not so lucky.

Missouri State slugger Jake Burger launched a grand slam to cap a huge second inning and the Bears piled on to down Saint Louis 15-8 at Billiken Sports Center. Jeremy Eierman went 4-for-6 with five RBIs and dropped a three-run bomb in the ninth inning to pad the Bears’ cushion.
