Republic has found its new head football coach.
The Republic School District announced Thursday that Ryan Cornelsen has been hired as the new head coach in addition to being the school's assistant activities director for the 2021-22 school year. He will also teach PE courses at RHS.
Cornelsen has 18 years of coaching and teaching experience, all of which included head coaching roles and six as an athletics director.
Most recently, he served as head coach at Gardner Edgerton High in Kansas. He was also a head coach at Hutchinson High, Hays High and LaCross High — all in Kansas.
