High-octane Bears run away from Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Dave Steckel’s first Missouri Valley Football Conference victory was one to savor.

Steckel’s Missouri State Bears put on an impressive road show at Indiana State’s Memorial Stadium, defeating Indiana State 45-24 on Saturday afternoon.

Junior receiver Malik Earl proved to be unstoppable, recording career highs with 11 receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

He hauled in a 69-yard pass from Brodie Lambert in the second quarter, then an 8-yard scoring toss on a third-and-goal play to snap a 24-all tie in the third quarter.

Lambert joined Earl in the career-best efforts, throwing for 279 yards and three TDs.
