Coach Steve Hesser has never experienced anything like it — a snake-bit 8-8 start to a season with the Drury men’s basketball team.
“We’ve lost eight games by a total of 19 points,” he said on Tuesday morning. “But, we’ve been in every game.”
Every loss came down to “one, maybe two plays,” he said. “And not just the end of the game. Any part of it.”
The parts all fell together Saturday in a rousing 94-54 destruction of a strong Lewis team at O’Reilly Family Event Center. “I am extremely proud of our guys,” Hesser said.
