'He's my brother': MSU standouts play last game together

FORT WORTH, Texas — After playing with each other since high school, Sunday night’s loss in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament marked perhaps the last time Jake Burger and Justin Paulsen will play together as teammates.

They left their mark on the program while they were at Missouri State.

“In my 35 years, they’re two of the best players to ever play here; period,” Bears head coach Keith Guttin said.

Burger is likely to be drafted in the first round of Monday night’s MLB Draft while Paulsen, the senior first baseman, played his final game during Missouri State’s 8-1 loss to Texas Christian.
