Here's why Missouri State coach Bobby Petrino is sticking with Jaden Johnson as his QB

Bobby Petrino is sticking with his quarterback from the fall as the Bears start their spring season on Saturday.

Redshirt-freshman Jaden Johnson will continue to be the starting quarterback, MSU's first-year head coach confirmed Monday.

Johnson started the Bears' three games during the fall and finished with an 0-3 record. He completed 39-of-79 passes for 383 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions.

The quarterback was benched in the second quarter of the Bears' home loss to Central Arkansas in favor of true-freshman quarterback Jake Van Dyne — opening the door for a quarterback competition during the months leading up to the spring season.
