It took me a few days to write this column because I didn't want to be too quick to overreact following Missouri State's opening night loss on Thursday.
On one end, you don't want to say the sky is falling after one game — especially with it being the first of the season. Teams can make considerable jumps after evaluating personnel and making the necessary adjustments before the second game of the season.
At the other end was the all-too-familiar football program we've seen far too often over recent years.
