Missouri State announced on Jan. 9 it had reached a separation agreement with head football coach Dave Steckel.
Steckel was 13-42 in five seasons as the Bears' head coach. He is the losingest coach in the program's history for any coach who has coached more than 32 games.
According to the terms of the separation agreement, Steckel will step down from his head coaching position and the university will provide him with a maximum buyout of $340,000 plus moving expenses.

Severance will be paid to Steckel in three installments over the next three years.
