Blood flowed into Greg Williams' intestines and abdominal cavity as he lay in the back of an ambulance. He was being rushed to emergency surgery to repair a torn abdomen.
He'd had health scares before but nothing this life-threatening.
His heart stopped. Then it started again. He doesn't remember how many times that happened.
"If this is how I'm going to go, I had a great life," Williams thought. "I had great people in my life, great family, great friends. There are great things I'm leaving behind."
Williams fell into a coma.
For a few days, he was unconscious.
