Scarlett Davis was one of many children who went out to hunt in the early youth portion of deer season at the end of October.
Davis, of Chilicothe, was in her second year of hunting with her dad, Scott, when she harvested a 14-point buck on private land in Mercer County.
In a social media post on Missouri Department of Conservation's Facebook page, hundreds shared their congratulations.
"This is an amazing deer," One person wrote. "And what a beautiful happy young lady! Congratulations!!"
"That's setting the bar pretty high for a first buck!
