One shot does not define a round.
Nor does it define the career or the character of Glendale senior Alex Locke, who finished as the state runner-up in the final golf tournament of his high school career.
Joseph Terschluse of Chaminade won the Class 4 Missouri high school golf state championship with a 36-hole score of 146 at Twin Hills in Joplin. Locke was two strokes back to finish as a runner-up in the individual standings. Rockhurst claimed the team championship with a four-player score of 610, three strokes better than Glendale’s runner-up score of 613.
A two-stroke penalty on the 11th hole of his final round proved to be a setback for Locke.
