Missouri State's newest junior-college transfer was born and raised in West Africa and spent the last year toiling in the shadow of Canada.
If Abdul-Hakim Fofana's coach is correct, Bears fans will be thrilled that his journey is continuing to Springfield.
"He's an absolute freak of an athlete," said Brock Lemon, coach at Dakota College at Bottineau.
Brock Lemon had Fofana for only a year at the North Dakota school, but he has seen enough of the 6-foot-7, 220-pound power forward to predict big things once the native of West Africa arrives on campus.
Fofana signed his letter of intent on Wednesday and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining with the Bears.
