WILLARD — Carthage is well on its way to another deep postseason run and a 42-7 win over Willard put the Tigers a step closer to the end goal: another state title.
The Tigers are 5-0 six weeks in with only one close win — a 21-20 victory over 2-3 Carl Junction. The story might be different if the Tigers had played Webb City in Week 4, but Carthage had several players in quarantine and the game was canceled.
