Former Missouri State star, current White Sox prospect Jake Burger tears tendon again

The Chicago White Sox announced Tuesday that former Missouri State star Jake Burger underwent surgery Monday to repair his left Achilles' tendon after retearing it last week.

The White Sox's first-round pick was 10 weeks into rehab after rupturing his Achilles during spring training in February.

WGN Radio White Sox postgame host Adam Hoge reported the injury shouldn't impact Burger's career long-term but he will return to square one with his rehab.

Recovery for the injury is expected to last 12 months.

Daily Herald White Sox beat writer Scot Gregor tweeted that Burger was walking in his Arizona home backyard when the injury occurred.
