Former Lamar football coach Scott Bailey named Jefferson City High School head coach

One of the most dominant head high school football coaches in the state's history is taking over the Jefferson City program.

Former Lamar head coach Scott Bailey has been hired as Jefferson City's next head football coach, according to a release from the Jefferson City School District. He will also teach strength and conditioning at the school.

Bailey was the head coach of the Lamar football program that won seven consecutive state championships. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

"We are excited to welcome COach Bailey as the new Jays head football coach," Jefferson City High School Activities Director Chad Rizner said in a release.
